Our Pastor

Hi, I’m Rachel Simpson, and I have the privilege of serving as pastor here at Crossroads Church.

I’m a single mum to three wonderful kids (currently 15, 12, and 9), and together we love being part of this church family.

Our journey with Crossroads began in 2016. From the moment we walked through the doors, we felt truly welcomed, and it was here that my relationship with the Lord grew in leaps and bounds. In 2018, I was baptised in the Waikato River which was a moment of deep joy and commitment.

The following year, I began to sense God calling me into ministry. After much prayer and conversation with my pastors, family, and friends, I took a leap of faith by leaving my full-time retail manager position to begin full-time remote study at Nazarene Theological College Brisbane while also serving in part-time ministry here at Crossroads. I completed my Bachelor of Ministry during this time, and when our previous pastors transitioned away, I stepped into a pastoral supply role. In July 2022, I was officially called to serve as senior pastor.

I love our church and community deeply. I have lived in Saint Andrews since 2009, and with my children attending local schools and my work here in the area, I truly feel at home in the Saint Andrews/Pukete community. Crossroads is more than just a place of worship for me; it is home, a family of faith where people can belong, grow, and discover the transforming love of Jesus. My passion is helping others encounter God’s grace, find hope, and live out their faith in everyday life.

Outside of ministry, I love cheering on my kids at their sports, going for walks along the river, or enjoying time at our beautiful local beaches, especially Raglan, Waihi, and Mt Maunganui. At home, I like to try my hand at the odd bit of DIY home improvement… not always so successfully!
